As previously mentioned I want to ensure we are open and transparent throughout the proceedings of the Royal Commission and I want to provide as much insight and create as much confidence in our business, our people and our processes as possible while the media continue to communicate poor behaviour by a minority within the profession.
It is easy to perceive that unscrupulous activity in the financial services sector relates to all within the profession rather than just those not working within the prescribed guidelines and expectations so to help provide some clarity I have attached a link below that takes you to a release prepared by AMP in relation to a specific matter.
As you may have heard ASIC has commenced proceedings against AMP Financial Planning in the Federal Court.
You will understand after reading this that the action relates to activity undertaken by advisers in the past and in no way links to any behaviour or activity undertaken by Encounter Group or any of our advisers. In fact at our recent compliance audit Encounter Group achieved an “A” which is the highest result possible.
Obviously the continued flow of information coming from the Royal Commission can be confusing so if you have any questions in relation to this matter or any other concerns regarding the Royal Commission please contact me directly and I will be happy to answer your questions.
